The Programming and Speakers Committee is excited to accept submissions for the 2026 VSSC Conference. Please see below for details on how to submit a proposal, submission examples and important deadlines.

Program & Session Expectations
We are eager to receive proposals related to any area of student affairs and higher education, including but not limited to:
• Student engagement and involvement
• Wellbeing and support services
• Fraternity and sorority life
• Academic advising
• Student conduct
• Housing and residence life
• Leadership development
• Assessment and data-informed decision making
• Professional development and supervision
• Emerging issues and creative solutions in higher education
Abstract
Include a brief summary or overview of your program and it’s aims.
The abstract will be used in the conference schedule.
Under “Learning Outcomes/Objectives,” add with unbolded bullet points:
Clearly state 2-4 learning objectives. These should highlight what attendees will learn
Outline of Program Session
Presenters should use all of the allotted time
Outline should be detailed, with loose time estimates
It is ok for these to change slightly after they have been reviewed/accepted
Ensure that there are interactive elements between presenters and participants
Allows growth of skills & exchange of knowledge
Include evidence and/or literature (optional)
Strongly suggested for programs targeted for student, professional, and leadership development
Bring individual computers/materials – only projectors and HDMIs will be provided
Include name, title, institution, and contact information at beginning and/or end of presentation
Leave at least five minutes for questions at the end
The VSSC Programming & Speakers Committee will use the following rubric to evaluate program submissions using this rubric. Please review this rubric prior to submitting your program proposal.
The VSSC Programming & Speakers Committee has gathered three exemplary submission examples from the 2025 conference. This may be helpful in creating a high quality program submission.
